Oct 2012

It has been a hectic fall so far, dear friends. Early September I got a call from Nikos Portokaloglou, who asked me if i was willing to play with him and Filippos Pliatsikas in their upcoming shows.

Accepting the invitation, I've been rehearsing with them and a stellar group of musicians in Athens for the past three weeks.

Shows may well run for many months, given the popularity of these two names, and a new gig juggling period is beginning to materialize. To give an example, the night after the Athens kickoff, I have to be set up in a studio 504 kilometers away, recording with Eleni and Souzana (she wants it spelled that way, don't look at me) Vougioukli. The album should be out by Christmas.

It IS rather fun,isn't it?

I also got a chance to catch up with people, play cajon and somehow managed to commence teaching. Once again, I've been up on that train platform for many more times than i'd like, but who cares?

Maybe just my family.

See you anywhere,Alex.
